Monoï: for the well-being of your hair

Posted on: 10/05/2019 | Categories: What uses for Monoï?

Monoï is a precious, ancestral oil with numerous benefits for the hair. Here's how to make the most of it and get the most out of your hair.

Monoï de Tahiti is the perfect oil for hair care

The beauty of Tahitian and Polynesian hair in general is not lost on anyone. And with good reason. It's long, dark, thick and dense. It's also as shiny and soft as silk. But they don't have this kind of hair quality by chance. They have a priceless beauty secret.

Monoi oil is simply copra oil, in which young Tiare flower buds macerate for a few days. In these little glass bottles, you'll find a powerful, fragrant elixir to restore strength and beauty to all hair types.

How does monoï work on all hair types?

Monoï is ideal for nourishing dry or dry or tired hair. It rehydrates the hair fiber right down to the bulb. No more brittle, thirsty, dull hair: monoï will have a magical effect on even the most recalcitrant manes.

On normal hair, it will simply provide extra reinforcement to protect the fiber from weather-related or other attacks (cold, heat, wind, salt, chlorine, etc.). Finally, it is also a precious ally for oily hair, preserving ends and split ends.

Monoï is also beneficial for frizzy, curly or frizzy hair. It helps to redefine curls and tame eternal frizz.

How to use monoï for different hair types?

Whatever your hair type, Monoï can be used as a mask or a treatment. The application time varies according to hair quality and desired look. Here's how to make the most of Monoï's benefits for your hair.

On dry hair, Monoï is best applied as a mask. Apply a few dabs to the lengths and leave on overnight. Ideally, you should wrap your hair in a towel. In the morning, shampoo your hair as needed to remove the greasiness of the monoi. Your hair will be soft, shiny and invigorated after a night of intense nourishment. This mask can be used once a week until hair quality improves. Thereafter, you can maintain this regularity, while reducing the length of the break (a few hours at most).

Normal hair will have much less trouble giving itself away. In fact, monoi can only be used as a mask once every two weeks. It is recommended to leave it on for a few hours before washing the hair. For those who don't have the time, an intensive overnight mask can be used once a month.

On oily hair, although coconut (or copra) oil has cleansing properties, it is recommended not to apply monoi to the scalp. However, monoi masks and conditioners are still a good option for keeping ends moisturized and shiny.

Monoi oil is also ideal for texturizing hair. In fact, it helps smooth curly or frizzy hair. It keeps frizz in place and nourishes hair after blow-drying, if applied in small quantities to the ends.
