Step 1: Monoï wrap - the cocooning ritual

Once or twice a month, treat your hair to a moment of intense care with a hair wrap. This is not a classic oil bath, but a targeted massage of the lengths and ends with monoi oil, followed by a rest period under a warm, damp towel.

  • Gently massage dry or slightly damp hair with the monoi oil of your choice (pure Tahitian monoi, no dry or low-monoi oils).
  • Wrap your hair in a warm towel (or care cap).
  • Laying time: minimum 20 minutes, but 2 hours offer optimum results.

Step 2: Shampoo - softness and sensory escape

Washing is a key step in removing residue and excess oil while preserving natural moisture. Opt for gentle monoi shampoos without harsh sulfates.

Tip: wash twice: once to remove the skincare product, and again for thorough cleaning.

Step 3: Conditioner or mask

After shampooing, your hair needs a nourishing conditioner to make detangling easier and keep it supple and shiny. Choose a monoi conditioner or mask.

Step 4: The right thing to do every day

  • Detangle gently starting with the tips and working up to the roots, using a natural bristle brush or wide-tooth comb.
  • Avoid water that's too hot which weakens the hair fiber, prefer a lukewarm temperature and a final rinse with cool water.
  • Limit heating appliances and pre-dry with a towel before drying at low temperature.
  • Protect your hair at night with a loose braid or satin pillowcase.
