Homemade scrub recipe with Monoï oil

Posted on: 08/06/2020 | Categories: All about Monoï

Monoï de Tahiti is known for its many properties properties and benefits. In fact, it is said to be the secret of Polynesian beauty. Once unknown to foreigners, monoï seems to have conquered all hearts, and many companies market it in various forms (oil, soap, cream, shower gel...). In their commercial form, however, we may be reluctant to use any of these products, for fear of the effects of the chemicals that some people do not hesitate to add to them. So you might prefer a grandmother's tip for trouble-free use of monoi. Here's a recipe for a homemade Monoï oil scrub.

The benefits of monoi oil scrub

Made from essentially natural substances, monoi oil scrub has enormous virtues. It's made up of small, pebbly particles that exfoliate the skin, ridding it of all dead particles and restoring its natural radiance. With this grandmotherly recipe, impurities, pimples and dark spots are a thing of the past. The scrub can be applied all over the body, especially on hidden areas that tend to be darker than others. These include armpits, neck, crotch and other areas.

Moreover, this scrub is highly beneficial and has therapeutic virtues, as its daily application prevents skin eruptions such as acne, as well as combating the effects of depigmentation and ensuring your skin's good health. To achieve the desired effect, the scrub should be applied 1-2 times a week and made up before each use (it must not be kept for more than 3 days).

Monoi oil scrub recipe

To benefit from its virtues, you need to know how to make it. Making a monoi oil scrub is very simple, and won't take you more than 10 minutes. To do so, you'll need the following ingredients: 5 teaspoons of brown sugar (for large grains), 2 teaspoons of argan or olive oil, 2 teaspoons of monoi oil and, if possible, a teaspoon of floral water to give the scrub a pleasant fragrance. After placing all the above ingredients in a dry container, mix vigorously to obtain a homogeneous paste. Once this is done, you can proceed with application.

Applying the scrub

To apply the scrub, first make sure your skin is dry, so that it can penetrate deeply. Then, using a stick, apply the mixture to the part of the body you've targeted. When applying the scrub, be sure to use gentle, circular, up-and-down movements, lest you damage the skin. Once you've done this, wait 10 to 15 minutes for the scrub to take effect. Then rinse thoroughly, preferably with lukewarm water, to thoroughly cleanse your skin and improve results. Now all you have to do is dry off. If you've scrupulously followed the instructions above, you'll notice the difference between your skin before and after.
