How to use Monoï on the body

Posted on: 14/04/2019 | Categories: What uses for Monoï?

Monoï is ideal for preparing the epidermis for the sun and leaving skin soft and fragrant. Find out how best to use it in this article.

How to use monoï on the body

First of all, it's important to remember that monoï is not a tanning oil. In fact, it contains no UVA or UVB filters. On the other hand, it is an excellent pre-sun and post-sun preparer and repairer

You'll learn that monoi can be used all year round. It keeps skin moisturized at all times. In summer, it soothes the aggressions of the sun, sea and wind, while in winter, it protects your skin from the cold.

Monoï has a fairly oily texture. To avoid a greasy filter on the skin, we recommend applying it straight from the shower, on skin that is still damp. You can also use it as a face mask, once a month.

Moisturizing isn't monoi's only asset for the skin. It also makes an excellent base for massage. Mothers can coat their babies with it, without any risk of allergy. Likewise, as a symbol of love and sensuality, monoï is an ideal choice for romantic massages.

Finally, if you tend to have very dry hands in winter, we recommend applying a dab of monoï to them. The oily filter will protect your hands and relieve chapping. The same goes for feet!

Is it possible to perfume with monoï?

Monoï is a naturally scented oil. With body heat, it releases all its fragrance throughout the day. For those who use it on the body as well as the hair, monoï will diffuse its distinctive fragrance with every movement.

In summer, if you don't use monoï on your body, you can rub a few drops on your neck, behind your ears and on your wrists. You'll smell like a Tahitian paradise!

Beware, however, that monoi can turn very sour, sometimes resulting in a rancid smell. If you really want to perfume yourself with monoï, there are also monoï eaux de parfum that remain intact for many hours.

Other ways to use monoï

After the summer season, monoï will keep your skin moisturized. This will help your tan stay intact for longer.

To combat the winter blues, what better way than to remember the smells of summer vacations? Pour a few drops of monoï into your bath and immerse yourself in this delicate, fragrant envelope! Caution: monoï can leave a greasy residue on the sides of the bathtub, so be careful not to fall.

Apply monoï as a mask to your hair overnight, to moisturize the fiber and make your hair soft! If you've got curls, monoi will help to redefine them without weighing them down.

Add a little brown sugar to your monoï for a natural face and body scrub.

Monoï is also very useful for manicures. Simply massage it into the nails, softening the skin and making it easier to regrow.
